Six bridesmaids, six groomsmen, one tightly choreographed lineup, timed so Eric would not catch a glimpse of his bride before the right moment. That walk down the aisle was the one thing on everyone's mind in the lead-up, nerves and excitement tangled together.

Taryn and Eric wanted the woods around the venue to carry the day, nothing competing with the trees or the architecture, just letting the setting do the talking. So, Die Woud was the perfect venue for these lovebirds. Pre-drinks ran on vodka lemonade and pizza, a detail this couple never once reconsidered from our very first planning conversation.

Taryn's background in fashion showed in how she approached the design. Flowers that would wilt by the next morning never appealed to her, so she leaned into texture and movement instead, candles, marble, and only three floral arrangements across the entire day. Then five days before the wedding, in the middle of a long weekend with a public holiday wedged into it, she changed the entire colour scheme. Every supplier got a call, every candle and stand got swapped, and the new look came together exactly as she had pictured it, the kind of last minute pivot we still talk about.

Taryn and Eric are the kind of couple who showed up ready to throw a ball for Skye in person, which earns automatic favourite status around here. And Taryn being the younger sister of our founder counts too.  Thank you for trusting us with a colour scheme overhaul on five days' notice and for keeping your cool through all of it. And to every supplier who turned candles and stands around at the last minute over a long weekend, thank you. We genuinely could not have made that pivot without you.
